Real estate is what Ian Palast does for a living. SBLV is what he’s building for the Vegas community. Here’s a short introduction to what it is and why it matters.
What SBLV is
SBLV stands for Small Businesses in Las Vegas. It’s a forthcoming property at sblv.biz that surfaces, profiles, and connects locally-owned small businesses in the Vegas valley. Taco joints. Family-owned auto shops. The barbershop that’s been on the same corner for thirty years. The cooking instructor with three students at a time. The valley is full of these businesses; most never get the visibility they deserve because the marketing landscape is built for chains.
Why it connects to real estate
Ian has been a Las Vegas Realtor since 2006. Eighteen-plus years of transactions means a deep network of small-business service providers — contractors, inspectors, lenders, painters, landscapers, movers, cleaners, the dozens of trades that come up in every transaction. New arrivals to the valley need that network. Existing residents need it. SBLV is the formal extension.
The content thread
Ian is also a content creator (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok) who naturally profiles Vegas places in his real-estate content. Restaurants. Neighborhood corners. The mom-and-pop coffee shop down the street from the Anthem listing. SBLV formalizes what he’s been doing informally for years — a structured directory and connection point for the locally-owned places that make the valley feel like home.
The roadmap
Build is in progress at sblv.biz. Initial scope: directory of Vegas-area small businesses by category, profile pages with owner stories, integration with Ian’s content channels for cross-promotion, and a referral pipeline for Palast Realty Group clients who need a trusted local introduction. Soft launch targets the same general timeline as the new PRG site.
For Vegas small-business owners
If you operate a locally-owned Vegas-area small business and want to be considered for the SBLV launch directory, the simplest path is to reach out to Ian directly. The directory will be selective and locally-owned only — no chains, no franchises, no out-of-state operators.
